Hi! I’m Liane, an imperfect 35-year-old follower of Jesus, wife, mom, decorating enthusiast, and former teacher.
I love to decorate and create simple, pretty spaces that don’t break the bank. Check out my Home Tour
My sweet husband decided to switch careers and become a doctor (Med school was NOWHERE on our radar when we married in 2006). He is now an orthopedic surgery resident, and our med school/residency journey has moved us from Colorado to Missouri to Florida and now to Michigan. Along the way, I have met dear people, walked through a miscarriage, and spent 13 years teaching 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades at Classical schools all around the country. After comfortably educating in the suburbs, I made the leap to teach in inner city Detroit. (Granted, it was a Charlotte Mason school, and I sure love Charlotte Mason.) Teaching excited me, challenged me, and sometimes exhausted me. I loved it.
Infertility was an unexpected part of my story after the miscarriage, but through it I learned to wrestle in prayer and eventually came to know deep in my heart that God is kind and hears me even when my hope is deferred. He bottles my tears and is close.
I gave birth to our precious baby boy in June 2017 and am LOVING being a mom. It feels like the highest privilege. Joy upon joy. You can read about the highs and lows of my first months of motherhood here.
As I journey through this life, living here and there, and adjusting to change, I have seen God’s goodness and want to proclaim it. I know that life is not always fun or easy, and yet He tells us to remember the good things He has done. So, this blog is dedicated to recounting His faithfulness as I share little anecdotes as a wife, mom, and former teacher. Enjoy!
